A 3D screening mammogram does not require a referral from a physician. However, insurance coverage varies, so check with your insurance provider before your appointment to avoid a surprise.
What to expect: The process of a 3D mammogram is just like those you’ve received in the past. Some women report less pressure or squeezing.

Oregon Imaging Centers is proud to offer 3D Screening mammography to all of our contracted providers! If your 3D mammography is not covered by one of these payers as “no patient responsibility,” OIC will adjust the fee at no cost to you! If you receive a bill for a denied tomogram from our contracted partners, please contact our billing office for review. For a list of our contracted payers, click here.
